sleeping newborn...

seek for help ..did any mummies experienced sleep newborn ,? my boy never cry for milk only sleep sleep sleep , (one week old ) now i hv to use stringe( those for njection needle tool..hehehh,...don know how to spell) to feed him milk, so worry of him...pls help any advice
already seek for Dr advice , blood report will out after 3 week , but for mean time hope tat got mummies hv tis experienced b4 can share wt me ..mamy many thanks

Mmm I remember my kids, at 1 week plus..slept a lot. A LOT (good times, good times..). But sometimes it was difficult to feed, coz would fall asleep again while feeding. Have you tried using a damp towel to wipe his head, or tickling his ears and feet? or try holding him in a not-so-comfy position (the cradle hold is very sleep-inducing)

if i don wake him up think he can sleep for 10 hrs...

yes i did whatever thing u mention above plus sth time put him under morning sun ( he don like sun) ..he will cry then agin fall sleep again ....haiz..... feeding him it take long time .......

furthermore even when he awake he will just stare at me or stare right or left for 10 min then sleep .. seem like he wont feel hungry ..
ant mummies face this problem also ..???

has he ever woke up crying/asking to be fed? or is it during the usual meal time he has eaten more than enough alr?

My son was also an exceptionally sleepy baby when born and that was because his jaundice level was high. Coupled with my son's low birth weight and being slightly pre-mature, he was really a very sleepy baby (born at 2.3kg, brought home 2.1kg, born at 36 weeks).

Jaundiced babies are usually very sleepy but hydrating them is important. I would express milk and feed him via bottle and made sure he had enough milk (fluids) for the day.

I would wake him every 2-3 hrs for a feed.

All these changed when he hit his first growth spurt at about 4 weeks where he got hungry very frequently (abt every hr).

just discharge at kk after 10days stay .. baby lung got infection got a lot of phlegm , plus he refuse drinking milk now need tube feeding , im so sad don know when he can drink milk by oral ... now bk at home , feel so down , so sad , plus alone at home didnt eat anything but just force myself to drink more water n milo n chicken essential ...... im crying when tube deed my baby ..

my sister would wake her baby in the day for feeds to make sure shes getting right amount but in the night, she would leave her till she woke up..

thank for ur hugs, really hope bibi will getting stronger , healthy , an dcan feed him by oral .... but everytime when i put pacifier he refuse to suck , my heart is so pain ..im think WHY WHY he refuse anything to put into his mouth , when he will learn sucking milk,,...??!! just pray hard pray hard to god
