Society, NPO and Charity for young single parents and their children

I have some great news for everyone here....
Had a great dinner at Ginny's place last night along with Frae and Noel from Sanctuary House....

We had a great discussion and Noel was a great help and source of ideas. We would be setting up a system where we can help single mothers who are willing to commit to standing up on their own feet, where we would have a multi agency approach and pair up with other agencies to tap on their resources, to help and educate single mothers from the point they realise they are pregnant to the point where they learn to stand on their own feet again....

We would have skills and character development, with job matching based on what the mothers are most suited to work as.... Sanctuary House and Four Trimesters also provides courses on natal care and parenting that would be helpful for mothers....

Alternative care for the baby/child during the day can be arranged when the mother is in the midst of working hard to be at least financially stable.

We would mostly likely be one of the agencies in this support chain for single mothers.

What I calling out for now is people to be join us in making this a reality by committing your time to this cause, anyone who wants to commit to help out can drop me a mail and I will be more than happy to include you in the next meeting which would be a brainstorming session, after we have gathered the "crew" for this "project".

I have another guy (my student), who is willing to help me out....
Details on the plans and formation of a new agency will be announced after the brainstorm session with the rest of the collaborative committee....

I assure you that great and amazing things are to come....

I personally will be taking up the IT aspects of the project, operations, research and advocacy.....

Now looking for more like minded persons to join and help us out....
Who else wants to join the committee?

"Multi-agency approach".. hehee... very new lingo to me haha... so we have many agencies each taking care of specialised aspects that a single mother would need support on izzit?

So does it mean now after your dinner, we have Sanctuary House and Four Trimesters' comittment for housing and parenting purposes? It would be a booast to the moral here yea!!! heheheheee

erm... Sorry do you think you can forward me the Phase 1 (can't access from office lor..)? I suppose it will explain what kind of agency we are trying to set up here right?

Hi J,

Details are not finalized at this time but this will be what I hope to bring to the discussion table for our agency.

Bridging 2 Different Worlds: Condensed copy: Agency Initial plans

It's a condensed version of a new plan after the initial meeting.
We already have a few concrete plans which cannot be revealed here at this time as I'm not sure about the others wanting to go public here.
We will be working out the details at the brainstorm session soon.

No problems! I just had another guy contact me yesterday and he runs a job matching agency. This is just only getter better!

While I am still in discussions with Ginny, Noel and Frae regarding the whole project,
I have decided to call for the formation of the society first....

I have currently 5 names including mine, Mag_huiling, Joybliss and two of my close associates. (We need 10)
I'll be registering the society on the 21st of this month, so whoever has an interest in joining us has up to 20th of Nov to subit your particulars to me....

I will also be contacting the Korean Unwed Mothers Support Network for discussions and opportunities to work together.....

you can include my name too!!! but im sorry i wont be able to commit cause my time is really really really limited. devoting my time to my boy and family to make up for those time i lost during those days when i was out having fun..
daily routine, mon to fri send boy to infant care then go to work after that fetch my boy and go back to mum's place. that 2-3 hours is the only time i have with my lil one everyday... sat morning send boy to infant care halfday. used that few hours either have some time to myself or spend time with my mum, breakfast or just 'u c me i c u' session. pick boy in the noon then go back to dad's place. he only has weekends few hours with his grandson. time not enough............

All those whose names are listed and confirmed, please PM me your particulars as I need to key them into the ROSES system on the 21st when we register.....

As I know that everyone is busy with their children, a meeting will be held in the afternoon of 21st Nov 2009, non-compulsory.... If you can come, you are encouraged to bring your little dears along.... :tlaugh:

actually im ok with it laaa~ but these few mths might not be able to meet up easily since my bf is back alr. n we hv many activities plan up for the lil pin. :D

Anyways, We have another mummy who will be joining us as a member....

We have now, Me, 2 friends, Mag_Huiling, JoyBliss, Huiping85, Siling87, happymummyo7, 7LegSotong, Ting, LYNN.

Will send out society constitution and membership forms tonight.
Should I run for the position of President or Secretary?
