We went to this Chinatown Heritage Centre during one of the weekends 2 weeks back.
It wasn't attractive to us when we were viewing from the entrance, quite museum look.
anyway we still went in coz Hubby likes to see such things
the exhibits do not tell much, just like museums.
Baber was climbing onto the antique chairs from the olden days and role playing an emperor give out orders :001_302:
We were about to conclude our $$ went down the drain again but opened our eyes BIG when we reached part 2 of the exhibition premise.
well, there is this portion whereby the extg premise was retained and conserved as the existing look, for us to view. U can see the wooden steps have been worn off by so many rubber canvas footprints walking up and down, seasoned to the shape of a labourer's foot. Blood and sweat? I guess there was.
Each cubicle measures at most 2.5m by 2m? jus enuff for a bed and a table. Whole family of 8 can live inside there. Everyone shares the kitchen and toilet.
Its worth a visit, to know how fortunate we are to own a basic HDB flat and living with airconditioners.
we enjoyed it a lot~
