Hello mummies..

Do u think sending children them to a Childcare Centre will help them to socialise and learn better.

That's what i'm thinking now too. My 24mths old boy is reluctant to be with other kids, especially his age or younger. He's staying with my parents when i'm working and he dun get to mingle much with other children as there's no other young children in our families. Thus he only enjoys playing with me/hubby or by himself, that's what worry me. So i intend to send him to childcare in Jan 2013, when he's 3yrs old so he get to socialise with other children. But now the waitlist of most childcares are so long, dun know can get him in or not.

Yes, of course. Some kids take longer to adapt though, give them some time and they will enjoy the new learning environment.

Hi all parents!

On the back of a highly-successful Artists Academy Junior "Little Maestros" concert recently, we are proud to announce the opening of new classes, starting with our first new class in April 2012.

Designed for children between 2.5 years old and 4 years old, the Expression Music Genius programme is designed to nurture your children through music learning and group interaction.

The best age to learn music pitch and rhythm is at the age of 3-5 years old. Through EMG, children will discover a wonderful world of musical tones, alphabets, numbers and shapes through 7 musical friends: The blue Alligator, the orange Bear, the yellow Chick, the purple Dinosaur, the brown Eagle, the green Frog and the red-spotted Giraffe. Each lesson runs the range of 6 modes of interaction: Singing, learning, playing, acting, writing and craft.

For more information, check out our website at | Music . Education . Performance

See you!

Hello Mummies!!!

Just join this forum.
Just wanted to ask for advice....
I have enrolled my child in childcare in early Jan, (going to turn 3 yrs soon),TOTALLY resisted to it... in the end need to withdraw her.
So now I am finding enrichments programs for her so that she can catch up, but don't know which centre is good??
Thought of sending her to GUG, but her separation anxiety is what I am worried about :(
And not sure whether she will want to attend the lessons.
Any of the mummies is facing what am I facing now?????

Yeah I m facing the same problem as u,my girl being the only young one in the family her grandparents tend to to be more compromising with her, this she is quite selfish in certain ways :( me too was also facing the waiting list issue, really weird on one hand govt is encourAging women to go back workforce after birth and low birth rate then y child care centre are always full?? Currently my girl is attending KG under teacher giovanna and my girl loves her cause she is really sweet m make her lessons lively m fun for the children :)

Hey there, separation anxiety is what every child will face as it was the first time that they are put in a totally new and unfamiliar environment away from home, my daughter took 2 months to open up to her playgroup teacher and she cried for 2 months, heart pain :( but we have to harden ourselves, alternatively u can try to go to enrichment classes where there are parents accompanied like Julia Gabriel bilingual slowly let her enjoy to school before u sign her for school, most impt is that u have to endure the pain of her cries and perserverEd, never give in to her cries haha, and before u drop her to be in her own always give her the assurance that you will come and pick her after classes with hugs and kisses, and also to praise her after classes, u may try cause me also face the same prob as u and it works for me and daughter:) jia you!

Hi, SHDiamond,
It those atas CC where there is only 101 centre.
Thought that it is nearby our hse, so is more convenient.
Never thought it is so bad. Just recently heard my daughter blurted
out that one of the teachers called her monster!!!
So bad of their teachers!!! No wonder my daughter grown phobia of CC.
Well, they will get their deserves if they carry on to be like that!!!!

Oh my! Now I am kind of phobic to send my little one to CC. With the growing number of foreign teachers like Filipinos and PRC just scares me as they seem fierce and a little loud. Well, not all of them I have to say, some are very nice. So kinda looking for a preschool which provides a few hours program....but dunno which one...
