when u feel the time is right and comfortable with letting go of ur daughterthat's how I felt when I sent my son to infant care when he was just 5mths old.....

my hubby tell me, not to worry.....just learn to let go, cos' when u worry then wat's the point of putting him there then?

the teacher's there tell me on the 1st day when I sit in with my son, that normally it is the mum that has separation anxiety and not the child haahahaa and how true is that..........

as for them getting sick in the childcare and not attending for a mth or so...it depends lah...dun worry too much

getting sick for children is part of growing up, they hv to attend sch one day unless u intend to teach them at home......

but of cos ultimately it is ur choice..........:tlaugh:

my girl now 2yo.

i was thinking mayb will be good if she can express herself more.
can pronunce her words better.

my idea age is when she's 2.5yo

was worried about her getting sick, so thought i should let her start those 2 or 3 hour playgroup rather than half day or full day.
mayb this will lessen the chance of getting sick.

It is nvr too early to send ur child out for half/full day programme, tho i would say the child would benefit more from full day programmes becoz alot of things happens in a preschool that your child would miss out on if s/he join just a half day sch.

Preschoolers usually learn alot of things than just socialising and doing routine tasks which are being taught in those preschools. Things that most working parents and even some sahm do nt teach their kids. Leave it to the professional to handle ur kids would not be such a bad idea after all. u will be amazed wha ur children will learn. Of coz u must always choose a good preschool programmes. Education nowadays are very competitive. I am slowly introducing my son to various infant storybooks and i let him watch infant videos bought from pop bookstore. Always remember t spend time talking to your child regardless of his/her age as an infant.

cheers.....

I tink teachers do try to understand wat the kid wans but of coz they cant spend alot of time trying to understand as there r other kids as well they need to attend to~ as in 1 teacher to 8 kids~

My no.2 child used to be from a infant care... as compared to my no.1 child (taken care by nanny), the no.2 does have better self-helped skill, at 11 months old he can keep him own shoes into cabinet n remove his clothes. my older child can't do this or rather more "lazy" to do all this task himself. My no.2 is also more fearless n sociable wheas my no.1 can't really interact with people outside his trusted circle of people.
At 15 months old , I removed my no.2 from infant care n put him in a montessori preschool (5-6 hour daily) , he fit in easily n there is no separation anxiety... recently I have my no.3, hence decide to put no.2 back to childcare Nursery- im also putting my no.1 into a childcare for the 1st time... ironically,my no.1 settle in childcare easily n my no.2 protest strongly every morning when we go to cc even after 1 month, though he told me he rather go back to the montessori-based 6 hr preschool... my conclusion is, he have known the very structure (=no freedom) type of life in cc since infant care time hence he actually understand the difference of a cc compared to playgrp/presch better then my older child who never been to cc... I believe that if he can choose, my no.2 would want to go back to the montessori school anytime, becos of the freedom (montessori type of lesson r more un-structure).
In this sense, I think that a short 2-4 hour type of playgrp (the program is also very impt) will actually benefit a child more- isn't childhood meant to b happy n carefree? structure learning can come later... say when they r 4 yr old.
unless like my case, i have not much choices cos i need to go back to work , so he have to go cc.
