Hello,Hi heather, my doc is from Thomson medical... Waitin time for private compare to gov is much lesser... Gov side on avg 6 mths for 1 try.... For private they can start you on next cycle.... Have you seen a gyane yet? Fertility specialist cost is higher than gynae...
I tried IUI before ivf.... Depends on your hubby sperm to determine which way is better...
I'm 27yrs married for 5yrs... So almost same case as you =)
Thanks for ur reply BabyLew.. The doc is suggesting to try 2 cycles of IUI before IVF.. Doc put me on clomid, triggered egg release this month ( though I was O-ing on my own).. Not sure if it helps for POR.. I am also doing yoga, drinking wheatgrass juice, eating wheat germ, taking c-Q10 to see if it helps.. Waiting for results.. Will check with SGH as many of u suggested here.. Thanks once again you all for all the help!If you are worry on the cost, then better to do it at govt hospital.
I am doing it at SGH (De Herma), have not heard of any sista here under her but she is quite ok.
If you have not seen a gynae, then suggest to get a polyclinic referral and visit 1 at the govt hosp. I went thru polyclinic and then Dr Herma arrange for all the initial tests for both my hb and me at subsidies rate so we save quite a fair bit from there.
There after when they transfer you to CARE, it will be private rate. But if doing the procedure under govt hosp can claim $3K grant and first time doing it can deduct $6k from medisave. My nurse inform that total cost at SGH is abt $10-12K, so might need to top up abt 2-3K for whole procedure.. hope this helps. =)
The success rate varies about most of the time, the average official statistic is about 30%. The younger you are when you did the IVF, the higher chance of success. IVF success rate drops drastically after 35. Having said this, it also depends on the clinic and your health. Since you are below 30, I think you stand a higher chance of success.
Those popular fertility doc I know is Dr Loh from KK. (Not sure if he went to Thomson as lately the old team in KK took over the Thomson IVF clinic). Next is Raffles Medical Dr Sheila Loh. You can try google for information, I think there should be many reviews around.
$7K for IUI? Are you sure it's IUI and not IVF?Hello,
Ya, I m seeing a fertility specialist.. I do not know if I can wait for 6 months Doc says the sooner the better, he asked us not to wait for 6 months to 1 year.. IUI at the clinic where I am going costs 7k per cycle.. Does anyone know if it costs lesser anywhere else?
Ya, nostalgia, 7k for IUI , including medicines for SO and 13k-15k for IVF.. I am going to pte clinic at Mt. Elizabeth.$7K for IUI? Are you sure it's IUI and not IVF?
IUI should cost around $3-$4k at the most, and that's for SO-IUI (superovulation). IUI with Clomid will be much less.

Any sista gg to doing fresh or FET soon?
hi liz, are you taking purogon? how much are you paying per vial if you are on purogon? my dosage is quite high, hence the hefty cost ~7k is too expensive.. I've spent only $1.8k plus for my 1st iui (75iu), then I'm now on my 2nd iui, $1.8k plus also (75iu>100iu) with scans and consultation already.. It's at Raffles Hospital, I'm seeing Dr. Sheila Loh, fertility specialist.. she told me before estimate cost is $2.5k.. But we only spent $1.8k.. You can just call Raffles and ask for an appointment with Dr. Sheila Loh so could start your iui right away..of course, some pre-checks are needed like bloodtest, HSG, etc.. Baby dust to us!!
