Hey ladysnap.. When i went for my first check up also, mthey couldnt hear any heartbeat. They only saw my waterbag & a tiny thing there. Gynae told me i have to come back again cause i was still too early and sometimes it can take some time for the heartbeat to be detected. Do not lose hope. Insya allah, everything shld turn out fine. :D
hi Suhaidah,

i rasa it just a mother instinct where they get over worried abt their unborn baby. I dah #2 pun kadang2 I wonder is my baby inside me ok ke tak. But hopefully semua ok...

Ya doa ibu mustajab jadi bila anak dah besar jgn lah marah2 pakai perkataan kasar2 kata kata tu pun satu doa. hahahah so anak kalau degil tak nak dengar ckp panggil aje anak bertuah... I bilang org I kadang2 pun takle tahan dgn kerena my daugther...

Hi Fadeela,

My doc is Dr Su Lilin... Might think of changing to Mary Rauff later....
Are u in Ruby clinic or Clinic G? Im with Ruby Clinic....

My EDD is Aug and its my 1st pregnancy... how abt you?

There's a thread regarding NUH somewhere here too so u can read up on that...
I heard the service is good from some friends...
Any reason why you choose NUH?

Yup I got no one to help me full time after I gave birth as my MIL is working and I have no parents...
My siblings are all working so dont want to trouble them... So thought of engaging a confinement lady for whole month....

For the urut lady, my friend has recommended me a good one too....

Hi Zaclin,

I had my first check up at Jurong Clinic (i dont wish to go so far for my checks up), will be going for my detailed scanning at Kent Ridge Wing on 20 march.

This is my second pregnancy and EDD July. Firstly, I choose NUH cause they have the service of their gynae at Jurong Clinic which is convenient for me. I dread going all the way to KKH like my 1st and end up the checks only lasted for a few minutes.
And NUH is a bit convenient when I really going for my delivery it nearby. And also convenient for my family member to visit me. KKH service was abit dissapointing during my 1st pregnancy.

I really pity you on no one helping you. Why dont you engage a domestic helper. For me I get a maid during my first child and my mum is not that healthy to look after me alone. So the maid help to run errands & cooks & my mum over see only. Anyway if you deliver normal you will be back on yr feet by 2 weeks insya allah.

Hi Fadeela,

I didnt know they have gynae at other clinics... Anyway NUH is quite near for me so it's ok for me to travel...
When I go there, I just like the feeling where the staff are all very friendly and the place is not very "hospital-like"...
The waiting area is like a lounge.. haha.. If you are going to Kent Ridge Wing, means it is at the Ruby Clinic....

Yes I do intend to get domestic helper... After my confinement... I dont want the domestic helper to come in early as I dont know if she can handle newborn and can take care of me at the same time.... So I thought of engaging confinement lady first then get the domestic helper which by then I can look after the baby and she can do housework and cook.... At the same time I can monitor how she look after my baby the next 3 months....

Thats the plan for now... :)

Hi Ladies,

I went for my 5 months checkup and was told that my placenta was low. Gynae said nothing to worry about as most cases it will go up over the months. Any experiences from experienced mummies on this?

:)

I was told my placenta was low too at 5mth check up. But gynae said that 80-90% chance it'll move up. I went back the following mth n my gynae said that my placenta has moved up a bit and no longer covering the cervix completely. Only partially. Alhamdullillah. Hope it'll move up so can go for normal delivery.

By the way, if ur placenta is low, u cannot carry anything heavy n need to avoid sexual intercourse. Some mummies also said cannot squat

Hi RamblingMummy,

My placenta is no near the cervix but at the left side at a low level. Yes, received the same advice from the gynae to avoid carrying heavy stuffs and no sexual intercouse :p heh~

No squating? okies.. shall take note of that... thanks! :)

Hopefully, it will move up normally.

this happened to me during my 4th mth check-up. my gynae also advised me against intercourse, no carrying of heavy stuff and can't be on my feet for too long at a time. alhamdulillah, during my 7th mth check-up, she said my placenta has moved up. don't worry too much ya? its usually quite common and my gynae was also like yours, she said there is nothing to worry about. take care. :)

nk tanye sikit lah.. when do you mummies start buying maternity bra? I'm only in my 6th week plus and after i remove my bra, rasa lega semacam and i will notice all those marks.. seems like my bra is tight. as this is my first pregnancy, i'm like clueless. a friend told me that it's not good to use those wired bra.

i bought bila i was about 4 months.. itu pun i just have one so far cos i still can fit into my normal bras. ya true its not good to wear those wired bras cos can cause your milk ducts to get blocked or something like that. i read about it before. i have to start buying more maternity bras too. i heard john little ada cheap ones.
