Dear ladies

Back from my HK trip. Now in my 12 weeks. Was feeling tired during my trip, suffered from backache also but luckily my burping ceases.

I was given folic acid for the 1st trimester. Folic acid good for baby brain development. Now started on 1) Calcium + Vit D3 2) Hemoplex (Iron) n 3) Prolacta ( Fish Oil), all 1 tab daily.

I am scheduled for Oscar test next week. Was thinking if to go for both Oscar n the more detailed test which hv 0.5% miscarriage risk. Any advice pls?

I asked when I can stop folic acid, mine told me to consume for 1 more month. Probably by Dec'11 I can stop. I really dun like pills.... Have not been eating the folic acids these few days. Kekeke...

hi Meilynn, the more detailed test (amniocentesis) will only be recommended if your OSCAR test shows high-risk. Actually even the OSCAR test is optional. This applies for mothers <35 years... i think there's other guidelines for mums >35 years...

me too! i only take them when i remember. hehehehe


oh i was scheduled for the OSCAR scan last 04/11 but i decided to not go as no matter what, i still wanna keep the baby plus u'll eventually get to see the bb in details on the 20th week scan so to me y waste $. well that is to me lah. i nowadays very cheapskate one! hahahha.
so i just pray everyday that bb is healthy can already. i dont mind if its a boi or a gal all i want is for the bb to b a healthy bb.. =))

I went for Oscar test on 04-Nov, few days later they told me that my bb is ok. I really hope to have a healthy bb cos till now my appetite still so so nia. Haiz...

HI All,

I am also due in 19 May next yr.

Just did my oscar, thank God everything turned out fine :)

Was so worried when TMC nurse called me, cos my gynae told me if there is nothing they will not call. Lucky was just a call to inform me that everything is fine...My heart almost dropped out.

My appetite is not getting any better, but I try to force myself to eat for the sake of the baby.

Now itching to buy some baby stuff, but my hubby says its too early....

Anyone started their baby stuff shopping yet? What did you buy?

I went to the baby fair at SG expo today. Bought some clothing, 2 pacifier, pillow and many many feeding bottles. The fair is not as big as I thought to be but there are some good bargains.

Please indicate the gender of your baby if u know it. Boy or girl doesn't matter actually. Just curious:)

I bought a second-hand baby cot and an electric breast pump set. (actually it was my sister who psycho-ed me to buy. She's 5 months ahead of me so is super in the mood for buying baby stuffs. ) :tlaugh:

NICE to meet u all :)

i am new here, EDD 28 May 2012, will having OSCAR test tmr at Thomson, was wonder are u all taking the OSCAR + FA Scan @20 weeks?

my gynae told me the oscar test cost abt $350, called Thomson, they said: P6 - Oscar +FA Scan @ 20 weeks cost abt 400+ (forgot the actual cost), it include the test tmr and test @ 20 weeks. Do we need to do the test @ 2 weeks? this is my first pregnacy, so i am bit confuse, had miscarriage last year, hope this time everything is fine.

I am having serious headache and gastric, burping non stop, no appetite at all, force myself to eat :(

Welcome Tataro!

I did my OSCAR test at 13 weeks, and cost about $400. Not sure what's the FA scan thought... I'm in my 14 weeks now...

Me too, still feeling nauseas, burpy, and gastric pain... you can try taking Gaviscon for gastric problems - it's safe for pregnancy :)
