saw alot using maclaren and combi..

Hi Mummies,

FYI: there is the Robinsons Expo Sale now on at Singapore Expo.
My colleagues suggest going there to get good bargains on baby essentials. I do not know if it's too early, but since our EDDs are in October, we can make use of these sales (GSS coming too!!!) to get the baby stuff!!

I was there last sat...they only have 2 types of baby cot, 3 types of stroller..all same brands...toys, clothing and 2 milk bottle brands, pampers brand...not a lot of choices...for

I heard at Mt A you get to keep everything that your baby is using, like bath tub and such, while other hospitals are re-using them.
Might consider to deliver at Mt A since its supposed to be cheaper too.

Anyone decide on natural birth or C sec ? My mum insist i try natural before i opt for C sec .........

Hi Spyvonne & ALisa, im seeing Dr tham too! I also went to yvonne chan for first visit, find her too exp. n her package oni starts at w19!
so i change to Dr Tham, no regrets! he always make me laugh at every checkup =)

im thinking wana take Mt A instead of TMC cos is cheaper. isit better to be near his clinic?

mine worse. i kept asking dr yvonne clinic got package? by right they give at week 16 one according to forums. they say mine will start week 21/22. so not worth it.
so this week i will be going dr tham first appt+ detailed scan. week 20. u?

same here! both mums insists i go for natural, especially my mil. she very against alot things i wana do. private dr n hospital oso kana -__-

i talk to my dr, he say go for epi . dont worry too much abt the pain

hi,

i heard mt a services better. but i already search gynaes till very tired. so decided on dr tham at tmc. i plan to have normal delivery without epidural. but doc says i have high chances end up c-sect cos my bb size abit bigger/ more on right side tummy as of now.

no harm if u take c-sect. but got diff types though. but certainly relieve pain only during delivery. it takes weeks to recover from ur wound. if breast feed , bb might kick til wound. then need go back stitch up again. tts wad many told me la. so i gonna try normal first

i heard if for newborn, then bb must be able see mummy face constantly from inside stroller. and heard only maclaren have.
i plan use baby sling for new born.
when bigger then use stroller.

heard maclaren got one type can use from newborn to bb 20kg. more worth it.

plan to go end may expo sale to see pricing and learn more

My doc not under Thomson Medical. 3 of my children is born at Mt A. Then i went to TMC and Mt A for Hospital tour to compare, still think Mt A is better. Rooms is brighter, more family oriental.

i call up the prices diff from internet and im confused.
so i duno tmc or mt a cheaper.
but mt a look newer definitely.

i will check with him tmr. my fren seeing him also tts how i knew he charged prolly cheapest in tmc. even cheaper than sgh and kkh.
but if he go mt a got additional charges? cos i had bad experience staying in tmc ward.


i last saw her at week 18. she offer package but is after my detail scan which is scheduled at week 21. means i will start week... 25? lolx
so my hubby totally pissed. and we were not told got package got detailed scan+oscar=$400. we paid oscar separately. :err:




fyi for other mummies too:
i stayed 4 days bedrest+1 injection+doc see me twice(just check bb heartbeat). cost $2500 already. 4 bedded.
and everytime ring bell nobody come when they chatting outside. worst is bedpan full i need one more ask me wait. (waited until no feel 45mins).

so i hope go mt a instead.

Total Cash S$900+ natural birth with epidural 4bedded, Just went to my friend baby shower last sun. She told me she pay 1k plus for 2 bedded natural with epidural.

kkh dont have package for oscar scan + detailed scan. Have to pay separate. The costs are as follows for Ultrasound scan of nuchal translucency (NT) -

A	Ultrasound scan at 11-14 weeks	80-85%	Day of scan	$157.50
B	Ultrasound scan at 11-14 weeks Blood test at 11-14 weeks	90%	2 working days after blood test	$315.00
C	Ultrasound scan at 11-14 weeks Blood test at 15-20 weeks	90%	2 working days after blood test	$245.40

Detailed scan not sure abt the price yet...will ask tomorrow when i see gynae.

Ya, i heard alot of negative review for TMC also. I like Mt A alot, i remember my 2nd birth i have no strength to push one of the nurse help me by pushing my tummy. ANd for my 3rd birth, once my baby is out they place the baby for me to cuddle 1st, after few mins then they clean up the baby. after clean up they straight away help me with breastfeeding the baby. Within 1hr the baby have the strongest suckle, so it is impt to Bf them in the 1st hour.

Hi mummies... I am also with dr tham. Next tues will be my detailed scan. His package is reasonable and he is quite good. My hubby was fascinated by his duties when he did scan for me for the first time. Impressed with what he done..

I'm also planning to check out the prices at that expo. May get stroller n cot.

Have kind of shortlisted capella, combi n Maclaren.

should be getting those with reversible handle so that bb will face me when I push the stroller.

A friend suggest to get bigger items now as energy level peaks. We are getting bigger as our pregnancy progresses.

Going to have my detailed scan next Monday so will know the confirmed gender. V excited.

wow! i call kkh want book dr john tee at first. but twice they gave me foreigners i not comfy. cos i was given UTI medi by kkh during a&e when i dont have uti. in the end i wobbly in bed a week cos i just took it. a week later just nice went back tmc gynae and she said it was bad medi for me. no sick endup take.
hai. in the end i stiill went back tmc lo.

i heard kkh and sgh / local hosp less scans. private hosp is every visit scan.

anyway better get everything bigger for babies. cos after we give birth, majority give us newborn items. and bb out then know exact size also.

im going expo mainly to get polygon mat, buy avent/pigeon/nuk mix bottles and sterilizer, and breast pump if prices cheaper than malls.

thinking get baby sling too first instead stroller cos first few months i shld be rarely bringing bb out. still got time check out strollers
