Hi Hotmilktea,
why next round will be pump?? U fully breastfeeding ur baby??
I hope can start latch to my baby after this sat checkup.
Dont know my baby still want it or not... cause now she is bottle feed with formula milk.

Coz if suck, I cannot monitor how much he is drinking. He drinks way too little. Only max 40ml for BM or formula.
I don't know how hospital can do 60ml.
How much ur girl drinking per feed in hw many hrs?
I didn't full BF, I will gv abt 2 formula. 1 thing I find it strange is bilirubin is expel by poo or pee. But my son constipate when drink formula,
Then how to expel? And I feel nothing can beat breastmilk. I think my PD is not pro- BF, tats y first thing is ask me stop BF.
And the irony thing is, his checkup on tues is 13.1, and yet PD say nx appt is nx

Btw, how much ml are your babies feeding? My boy is 2 weeks old and he feeds average 40ml, only twice is 55ml.
PD asked me aim 60ml per 3 hr feed, possible meh?

I think just use cotton with water will do
My boy is 4+ weeks, he was also drinking like 30ml ~ 50ml every 2 hours or so at 2 ~ 3 weeks. Only about 4 weeks he is 60ml ~ 90ml about every 2 hours as well. The problem is that he rejects bottle at times so he drinks very little from the bottle and I have to top up by latching him. His drinking pattern is super irregular.

my girl drink 110 ml for 3 to 3.5 hours since she was 2 weeks old.
is u eat ginger? as I know, if we eat ginger, then should not breastfeeding the baby.
if u feel uncomfortable for the jaunice, u may go to polyclinic. they will keep follow up till the Jaundice below 100 level.
Hotmilktea, breastfeeding does not require u to monitor how much bb is drinking. That will only give u unnecessary stress. Besides each bb is unique so someone's bb can drink 100ml every 3 hr but ur bb can drink 50ml every 2 hr n that's perfectly fine. When ur bb suck, the amt he suck is diff from amt u pump out so it's not accurate gauge also.
U r right, nothing can beat breastmilk... Maybe u go to the PD I went to? Dr Ong EK of International Child n Adolescent Clinic. If he's not ard, can look for Dr Koh too. The PD I initially went to also not very breastfeeding friendly. My bb jaundice lvl 11.5 when discharged. She asked me to give water n formula milk at night. I nvr heed her advice n give total breastfeeding n changed a PD of course. Breast milk will help clear jaundice n keep ur bb healthy. But if ur bb jaundice lvl too high to dangerous lvl, they will advice u to stop breastfeeding for awhile. U can seek second opinion n c if u shd stop or continue breastfeeding.

Guess I really need to fatten up my boy fast! Thanx Lyra, I will consider ur PD, really annoyed me with anti-BF PD.
Now I am feeding my boy more BF, but I pump out to monitor his intake, only let him suckle when I need to sooth him to sleep.
Btw mummies, how mch weight did u all lose? Today is my 2nd week after delivery, I lost 6kg. But really flabby tummy and very top heavy.
I dunnoe how to lose it off man. Feel sad when I see my wedding pic in jan this yr. so much diff! If go back to my wedding weight I got 7 kg to work , if not is 5kg. But even lose also wun be the same anymore liao :x

My baby also same... Yester night was a nightmare for me.. He cry n cry... I feed n feed... Many many time he fall asleep.. I used 3hrs then manage to make him really slp when I put him on bed....
Too pek chey I throw temper at him and hit his backside...
Same here... Some time he 1hr want feed Liao sometime 2hrs and sometime 3hrs.
I now trying to give him mix fm and breastmilk but he keep reject fm milk...

Put him down in his own crib, he woke up within 10 mins crying again.

15-20min sounds gd. In the breastfeeding book I bought, it says bb shd nurse 20-30min to get the hind milk. Every bb is diff. Mine varies his feeding throughout the day. Sometimes he just take 5-10min n falls asleep, sometimes he go on for 30-45min. I just tell myself sometimes he's just thirsty or wants mummy's cuddle, sometimes he's hungry n wants more milk. I think just feed when he demands n he's fine. I monitored his poo n pee so as long Ashe poo n peenormal then ok.

I also am experiencing the samr with my baby. Is ur bb 3 weeks old? It starts ard this agen goes on for weeks. When this happens, I tell myself he's getting used to environment outside of the womb n he's needing mummy n daddy's love n care. I try to remain positive n breastfeed him, when he pulls off or fuss, hold him in his fav position, sing to him, reduce stimulation by swaddling him, switching off lights leaving only night lights n rock him while walking ard house. Trying diff methods to soothe him. It's a time when bb needs to know someone care for him when he's in distress. Nobody knows y baby will b in distress at this time of the day but we only guess n we can only do trial n error until we arrive at a method that he prefers.
Every night hubby n I will b so beaten by his fussiness. It doesn't help that he's also having cough n cold now. Sigh. No choice, we have to carry on n tell ourselves everything will be better soon. Evening fussiness goes away after a few weeks. When we see his cute face, everything is worth it!
i will beat his butt (with pampers on of course) only when he cry till almost breadthless. he is having bad nappy rash... so since few days ago, he will cry loudly whenever the cotton ball touches his butt... so poor thing but i hate it whenever he cry so hard till his whole face turn from red to dark red almost purple black lor!
he never sleep till 3 hrs, i would be very glad if he can sleep sp 2 hrs! we are feeding Fisco (given by hospital) during the night so that i can have time to sleep. so far he is ok with both my breastmilk & Fisco.

He poos n pees every time after feed when we brought him back from hospital. So much that we gave up nappy. When I was using nappy, he pees even while I'm feeding him!
Now he poos n Pees regularly but I can't say whether it's every time after feed coz we switch to pampers n dun change so often now.

so u don change after every feed? i change almost after every feed unless like i just changed then he either pee or poo again then i will wait till next feed which is around 1 hr later.. now he got bad nappy rash... actually my PIL wanted to use nappy wan but always leak le... so ma fan.. then when i carry him, i have to carry him with pee pad below him lor! so i give up on nappy liao.
We use desitin nappy rash cream, the blue tube, so far so gd, no rashes. Every change of diaper, I use pigeon wet towels to wipe clean, esp beside n under the scrotum. Then put nappy rash cream sparingly.
im using pureen, heard its very good too but think my baby's skin is sensitive just like mine ba... we just bought avene, hope will helps.

I lost like 5+kg, baby and placenta is about 3, the rest is probably blood and uterus shrink.
Still got abt 6, I really dunnoe how to lose, the tummy after massage although smaller but still big and flabby. I didn't gained much below hip but upper body is gone case, ESP the back I think. I feel hungry and eat all 3 meals, but half bowl rice and lots
Of vege and lean pork or fish every lunch n dinner. If dun eat well , no breast milk
Sigh..... How to lose ?

I know I hv raised this topic before but I am seriously concern N worried.
My baby is 17 days old and he is havig too little milk. Sometimes he drink only 20-30ml on abt 3-4
Hrs time. If I m lucky, he drinks abt 50ml + a few times since he is born only, either EBM or formula is the same amount.
but he is having like 8 wet diapers and yellowish poo at least 5 times in a day, sometimes really explosive.
Even I wake him up to nurse, he fall asleep very soon. Even he not sleeping, he also win drink a
Lot.
What sld I do? I m so worried he dun get fatten up. And worse is my mum din agree that I sld wake him up and force him, she say babies grow when sleeping, he will wake up if he wanna milk. Sigh

My baby has jaundice n I was in the same situation. Cried a lot coz bb keeps sleeping n dun feed.
Try not to measure how much bb drink n dun give infant formula. Just feed baby direct.
You NEED to wake up a slept baby with jaundice ro feed! My parents n parents in law keep telling me let bb sleep but I'm very firm on the feeding schedule coz sleepy baby won't demand for feed spo we cannot juz wait for bb to wake up n do demand feeding. I wake my bb up every 2-3hrs, never let him sleep past 3.5hr. Baby drink only few min n fell asleep. While latched on I tickled his ears, tickled his feet, do breast compression, still cannot wake up, unlatch him rub his chest, take off swaddle n trousers or booties so his feet r cold, feed in cooler air con room, hold him n talk to him, asking him to wake up n feed etc. Those few days were tormenting. I got depression at 5pm almost everyday n kept crying n crying.
But bb grew out of it! By end of second week, he feeds well abt 10-20min whenever I wake him up every 2-3hr. By 3rd week, he sometimes wakes up to demand for milk when it's time for milk. When he dun, I'll still wake him up for milk coz I want him to get used to drinking milk every 2-3hr.
If ur baby wets n poos well then it means he's feeding well. My baby is a small eater, drinking 5-10min sometimes n 45min at most but he's growing heavier n taller whether we measured him n he poos n pees well. That's how we know drinking for lesser period dosent mean he snot getting milk. At first I was very worried n now I just relax n let him drink as much or as little Ashe wants. But if ur bb is sleepy, wake him up n keep trying to feed him. If he's sleepy due to jaundice,he may not know he's hungry but he is! It's hard but press on n u'll c the light at the end of the tunnel!
