Dr Irene Chua has one of the nicest, neatest handwriting I have ever seen for a specialist ( most GP docs.levels--alreadi scribble).

For me, I used to wait about 15 minutes. You can call KKH and tell them you wanna make an appointmen to see Irene Chua

Is Dr Irene Chua pro-natural delivery?

What about in delivery suite, are the nurses/midwives scared enough of her to give her priority and do things properly?

I underwent a very complicated surgery successfully. Dr Irene saved me and I feel very indebted to her.

A ward nurse said that I am very lucky to have her and " she is a very good doctor".

So these are the evidents :

a. Very good in estimation of dangerous growth cells in my womb.

b. Resulted in life saving. Very efficient surgeon.

c. Many patients including ward nurses like her.

d. She has high intelligence, EQ, AQ.

e. And do remember, she only has 2 hands.

f. When you say, do things 'properly' , you must know is there another very sudden complicated case given to her??? As far as I know, she is a very careful doctor.

g. I am a very very high expectation patient. I strongly recommend Dr Irene cause if you feel very fearful, she will erase off yr fear.

h. Fearful things become normal . She has her ability to transform your fears into peace. Not every one can do such feat!!

i. Her standard is something like Dr Kowa of Mt. Eliza.

j. Because of Doc. Irene , I like Kkh!!

k. I am waiting to see her under the GOLD superstar award - cateory.

But I still don't know if she is pro-natural. Now that you mention that every min is important to her, I am fearful that she may persuade me into getting a C-sec so that she can get on with other patients as there would not be so much waiting involved as in natural birth.

Every min . is precious to most surgeons. Dr Irene has many much more responsibilities.

She is a very highly intelligent and careful specialist.

She will know what is best for you.

Mark my words= ! She will transform yr fear to peace.

If you, like I was, are very particular about having a natural, non-interventionist birth (as far as medically safe) and not being rushed into induction and/or c-section unnecessarily, there are a few very reputable gynaes in Singapore who are well-known for totally respecting women's decisions for the kind of birth they wish to have, while at the same time being absolutely wise in diagnosis, careful, experienced and technically excellent.

Egs, are Dr Paul Tseng (TLC at TMC), Dr TC Chang (his clinic is also at TMC) and Dr FM Lai (his clinic is at Camden Medical Centre). They are very open to women discussing their birth plans with them, open to working with doulas (birth assistants) if you have any intention to engage one, and work very well with the hospital staff where they conduct deliveries to ensure that their clients' birth plans are respected and carried out.

FYI, I switched gynae from Dr Irene Chua to Dr Paul Tseng for #1 after trying to discuss my birth plan with her in my 33rd week because I felt that she (or maybe it's KKH's hospital protocol and policies) would not be able to support me in the natural birth that I wished for as far as possible. Dr Paul was our dream gynae come true. Each time we tell people our gynae is Dr Paul, we hear compliments and glowing reviews, with people telling us how fortunate we are to have him as our gynae. We have also recommended friends to see him and they are equally pleased with his expertise and service. We are sticking with him for #2. =)

I don't think any gynae has a fixed schedule. You could call up KKH to ask to speak to her.
