vonn81 > my boy has the same prob recently. he prefers brown rice cereal n the food my hb n i eat. all the way, he was ok w porridge n puree n cereal.
but if we eat his porridge in front of him, he also want it. so in the end, wat we do is to eat same porridge w him everytime.
i think my boy becomes so choosy now is 'cause he's exposed to too much sweet stuff alr (fr fruit puree n the cereals which r v sweet). so even pumpkin porridge n sweet potato porridge r not yummy enough for him.
need to hv more varieties alr. 8+mths only, alr so choosy. when he's toddler, i really jialat. hahaha... think hv to use stock to make porridge again.
regarding their daily meal intake, mine is :
morning - milk
lunch - porridge / puree / cereal
tea break - milk
dinner - porridge / puree / cereal
night (b4 sleep) - milk
why do u say puree is Ang Moh style huh????? Same as my darlin autumn82 coz she oso said so....why why why??????????vonn81 > i stop bf alr 'cause he got teeth. hahaha... he's gg to 9mths soon. i also think puree is ang moh style. fruits good for them but sweet. mine still like plain water. but dun like mild sweet porridge. choosy fellow. yest, my hubby put alot of carrot n pumpkin in porridge. n he eats it. but still cant finish his usual intake. but when we give him papaya, he LOVES it. finish whole bowl.
My menu for 8-month-old DD:orrhs, i only substitute one meal with semi-solids...means:
1) breakfast 8.30am = alternate days cereal / milk
2) lunch 12pm = baby porridge
3) tea break = milk / cereal , also alternate, everyday wil hav fruits.
4) dinner 6.30pm = milk
5) before bedtime = milk
Milk is still the main source of food at this age coz it contains nutrients needed for their growth.
