Any GOOD home tuition agency to recommend? or Tutors?

Hi mums,

as a mum like u all i have been worried about my children's education. had tutors who gave me headaches and all the usual frustration before. Anyway, my brother in law recommended ChoiceTuition. I tried their service and its really good. Only thing they do not have a website. The agent actually called after every lesson in the first 2 weeks to ask how was the tutor and if i liked her. Communication and service was excellent and i think i should give them a recommendation here. if interested, give this agent more support! his number is 81686264. They do not have a domain website, but they do have a facebook page. i heard they are quite new to this industry.

You had not even discussed anything on this forum before. You sure you are a mummy or someone working at choicetuition?

I am ok with educators and service providers. But I am NOT ok with people masquerading as parents and putting up fake reviews.

I went there before for my boys as well their teachers are always late so annoying. But u was quite lucky I got a good private tutor at pasir ris for all three of my kids. She's a full time tutor and my kids really improved n love her! Her charges are reasonable $200-$300per mth for 8hrs lessons per kid. But she does only small grps at her house. Not sure if she does home to home not but she only do grp of 2-5 students; ) if ur are interested 83187919 is her number. She is called miss tan. All of us just want the best for our children. My elder son is also very playful and slack when he was younger, we got him many tutors and tried to push him as he is the same type as your DD . He has no sense of urgency and really needed someone that push him and encourage him and at the same time patient with him to guide him through. I was very frustrated as well, cos I am working full time and my mother in law dont understand English at all..

But most of the tutors we got previously was not really patience and motivate enough so we keep changing tutors for my son , until when he was in P5 , we finally got a REALLY GOOD teacher for him, at first we also doubt how much can she helps cos she looks quite young, but according to my boiboi she is very patient and always encourage him, and from what I see is that I NEVER seen any tutor that put in this much of effort to help my son...

She knew that we were concern that she is just another fly by night tutor and she might not be the suitable tutor for us, so she offered us 2 FREE Trial lessons, and said there's no obligatory for us to hire her if she is not good or not suitable for our boiboi... Another thing which I am really amazed was she provides 24/7 service to my boi! when my boi don't how to do his question in the midnight during PSLE period, she answer him within 30mins with detailed answers via sms n mms even when its 3am... I think I myself also wont bother answering my boi as I am too tired....

She been teaching my boi since then and my boi is gg to sec 4 next year.. My another daughter is also under her tutoring... I think you are in the same desperate situation as what I was previously, so I really recommend u to call her up, her name is Ms Janel Tan (83187919)..

She has a classroom at Katong opposite 112 and I think she offer holiday programme (which provides extra FREE consultation for the students that are weaker and needs a push) but my boi boi is not gg for that as we are gg for a holiday trip, ahhahahh good luck fren! Its really not easy taking care of kids are not self motivated...

am currently sending my primary 6 son to Mindshaper Education centre at Katong. they provide free student diagnosis. fees are quite competitive too. if i'm not wrong they can be reached at 82002215. very polite and professional service provided..not pushy like some agencies.

Hi all,

I would like to recommend this tutor, Mr Andy, who has been teaching my son for 2 years. He is patient with my kid and always make sure my kid understand the questions thoroughly. He is also very well versed with the syllabus. Besides, he always ensure he make it for all lessons and never late for any of them. I have had many tutors before him but I must say I am really impressed with his teaching methods. My son had done very well for his exam this year and really improved a lot since Mr Andy taught him. A true professional!
