Hi vanitykills, my gynae is Dr Quek Swee Chong at Specialist Clinic A. He didn't give me any vitamins for now as he says no need. Onli after 3 mths which will be my next visit he will prescribe to me some. As for the antenatal panel 3 they never explain to u wat tat? If I am not wrong it's something similiar to OsCar tat luvjoanne had mentioned earlier. May be u can call KK to check wat tat. I had opt out of tat as my family says not really necessary but it's up to me to decide whether I wan to go for it ma. So I never go for it.

Vanitykills, I agree ur medications seem on the high side. Folic acid r cheap, I chose to get them from guardian, 1mth supply only $3+. initially I gt exactly the same folic acid from my GP (before I went gynae) n it cost me $18. I didn't take any multi vits yet too, except vit B6 which is a few dollars. My first consultation fee was $80, including ultrascan. Subsequent is $40. Urine test $5. My gynae is dr Benjamin tham at TMC.

Hi mama_aki,

Yes i have went for my first screening at 8 weeks plus... Saw and listened to baby's heartbeat... So excited.... My next appt is on Oct 5th. I like to recommend Dr Tho Chin Keong, i think he delivers at both Mount A and Thomson... He is a very thorough doctor and caring too... Got anything concerning pregnancy he will answer with patience one.. His clinic is situated at Jurong East... Clinics not crowded too... The first time i went there about 4-5 patients... HOw are you coping with your pregnancy so far?
Hi applebreeze, I just went for my first from-the-top ultrasound scan over the weekend at 10weeks plus.. saw my baby hiccuping and heard his/ her heartbeat too.. it's 171bps! though it doesn't sound like heart beat to us~

I am considering to deliver at Glen E if I'm staying with my current gynae. Would like to consider others but any recommendations for good female gynae?

For me, stepping into week11 this week.. and hope that the worst is passing but just this morning had some bouts of MS and feeling my eyelids very heavy despite sleeping so much over the weekend. When I did the scan, the gynae said the placenta is forming, maybe not completed that's why I'm still feeling so tired. What about you?

Btw, will you be taking the nuchal transparency test?

Hi mama_aki,

I dont usually have morning sickness but rather it's 'evening sickness', all my uncomfortable feelings comes every evening... My eyelids feel heavy also whenever night comes... If you are looking for a good female gynae, perhaps u can try Dr Cordelia Han from Raffles Women's clinic... She has a clinic at causeway point. I saw her before for abortion last time but from my experience with her, she is a very thorough n sensitive doctor...

I did not go back to her cos maternity package at raffles is quite ex... Since you are deciding to give birth at Glen E... i suppose the charges are quite similar... What is this nuchal transparency test about? My gynae did not mention to me though.

Hi applebreeze,

Sorry for the late reply & thanks much for the recommendation. I am thinking of delivering at Glen E as it's nearer my place.. also have been only going to this gynae so far. Just that I had bad experience with her before, partly also that I'm quite sensitive so having second thoughts =p Until now cannot decide whether to stay with her. She has talked to me about package and by right it would be best I decide and take up the pkg from my next appointmt which is coming Sat!

Nuchal Transparency test is actually part of the first trimester combined screening. For my gynae, she said it is optional, for some gynae, they make it compulsory. It is actually to tell the possibility of baby having down syndrome and has accuracy of up to 90%. There are other tests you can still take beyond 13 weeks to check for that but the accuracy level is lower. Some people choose not to take it cos they don't wish to know beforehand, will keep the baby anyway or are not allowed to abort due to religion. For me, we decided to take the test.

i had my 12th week OSCAR scan last friday and it was interesting.. baby wasnt coordinating with all his/her funny positions and the sonographer got really fed up after like 30-40mins of scan! so i had to go and pee, and drink lotsa water again to hope that baby will cooperate but it still took a long long time before the sonographer could get the scan right. when my hubby was called into the room, this naughty baby immediately raised up his/her hand and waved at daddy! even the sonographer also laughed.. so cute as we could see the hand with fingers opened up clearly.

after that, i went to my gynae for routine scan and i "forced" my gynae to let me know of the gender. he didnt want to say, as he says it's still too early and might be inaccurate and didnt want to disappoint me. but i insisted for curiosity sake, and he tried to scan in b/w the legs.. and he found nothing! so he said "i think might be a girl!"..
just as he said that, we saw a white patch thingy appeared in b/w the legs and gynae immediately said "saw that? that might be a boy's thing!!" haha. then gynae just went on "dont force me lah.. i will tell u next mth when it's more accurate okie?"

haha...

Hi ariesgirl & luvjoanne, I've just taken my 1st trimester combined screening on Sat too. Do you know how long it will take to get results? My gynae also made an early guess of baby love's gender.. she said most probably is a girl as she can't see anything between the legs but still early to tell. FTB hopes for a boy so I hope he will have his wish granted. But still, most important baby is healthy and well (=

Hi mummies to be, my gynae also tell me it's too early to see the gender now. So I have to wait till my next appt at this mth end may be able to tell. I also onli hope that bb is healthy. Think tat most impt.

Ya bb growing fast. Saw bb last week, finally can see the head, legs n hands. N when my gynae was scanning bb, bb is facing us. Feel excited abt it. Now mine is abt 6.7cm at 13 weeks. :) now hoping my next appt will come fast.

actually have u all put on weight? i have not put on any weight significantly. my weight increases like 1 kg from pre-pregnancy weight, but drop back and increases back to and fro. so it's pretty much the same. but i have a bump at tummy that caused me not to be able to zip up my working pants.. but u mummies can try this.

try using a rubber band to go through the button hole of ur pants, and use the rubber band to "hook" ur button on. it works for me, and i'm still wearing my jeans and pants. though i prefer to wear dresses as they are more comfy but i pretty sick of wearing the same dresses everyday! i wanna go shopping!! been bugging hubby to bring me shopping :p
