the one week paternity leave will only be implemented in may 2013. Civil service starts 01 jan. for those fathers working with gov, can get :) gov encrg companies to start giving too. So I think can check with coy's HR if they will follow gov. Lets hope all companies follow!

Ohh isit really true? Regarding the paternity leave? For civil service starts on 1st jan.. if it really is, my hubs must be very happy then.. lol.
Told him yesterday that it will only start in may & he was so disappointed. ;)

yeah it was annonced yesterday that civil service will be adopting the paternity leave starting 01 Jan. :)

i think its really good news for all of us.. especially the baby bonus part! haha. heard that we can purchase insurance protection plans with the medisave $ too. which means the $3k can be put into good use.

My hubby also very disappointed as can't get the 1 week paternity leave...
I told him maybe is typo error...It's should be 1 Mar 2013 instead of 1 May 2013!! Hahaha...

i really think must check with HR. especially if big companies, may choose to follow government practice.

if small companies, can negotiate with boss? hehe.

I read from the channel news Asia news that fathers can speak with their company to take the paternity leave and the company will claim it from 1 May.

Hi mummies, pls go to www.citizen.gov.SG for more infor on d latest parenthood package. Though it all stated as effective 1 May, u may refer to yr co HR during d transition period which is from Jan-30 Apr. Gov agrees to pay back co but subject to d co allowing allowing a not for d paternity leave as well as shared maternity leave. Btw I will b cutting my hair to shoulder length by mth end to avoid d crowded period b4 cny as my due date is end feb, n who no might b earlier. Not sure y am having spotting again yest. Only a dot or two though, but quite worried. Gg to call gynae later n hv my checkup earlier. Had it 2weeks b4 as well. Thought taken too cooling food or overstretched myself? Or is it an early symptom? Yest received all my orders from amazon!!! So happy!!! Everything completed now. Gg to buy d step down converter tis weekend. Another thing to get is bb formula for standby.still indecisive which to choose-enfalac, similac or s26? Anyone done any survey which is better? Or shd I let bb try at hospiital first n only buy later on when she comes home?

dont cut the hair too short.. make sure able to tie up..(tat the advise from my colleagues, experience mums).

I also sudden spotting again today :(

it happend during Xmas eve & 2 days after Xmas.. and last nite happened again & today too. My gynae said so long not bleeding, i still ok :( but still kana worry.

You bought your breast pump? how much?

I tik is let baby tray at hospital 1st before we buy.. it be safer in this way (too many brands in the market).

I can only claim my maternity leave for 2weeks due to my contract ending in march.. I doubt the company will renew my contract just to let me claim my maternity leave.. =((

oh dear..

We can actually start taking ML 4 weeks before due date. which is stated as "Pre-confinement leave".

Maternity Leave

And we have to inform our employers 1 week in advance before taking the leave.

Hi Smilem, at Thomson seeing gynae now. D reception commented tat mayb I'm ready to deliver!!! Omg! Am only at w35!!!

Yup won't cut my hair too short. Shoulder length n able to tie up. Else if can't tie worst, more hot!!!

I bought d Medela Swing at SGD175. Outside selling SGD 299 wif some freebies. I get mine early since able to save a little. N many ppl told me sure hv breast milk depending on ourselves only. But anyway will juz get it as standby. If really no milk then can pass to my sis.... Haha.

oh dear...do take extra care n make sure u standby all ur stuff.. at least ur still taking home income while ur pregnant. for us we gotta quit our job once pregnant.
