i can't save one lehz. dunno why. i every mth b4 pay day alrady budget liao, but still overspend. cuz i only see my DS on alt weekends. and he loves thomas n friends. so i usually spend bout 100+ every mth on toys for him.

My case...

20% = CPF
35% = all allowance for the whole month / hp bill payment
30% = saving into our joint account
15% = DS school fee & 1/4 car installment

So roughly i got 35% to spent a month.. =)

My hb was the sole bread winner till last month.. I used to rely on $600 allowance for everything excluding bills.. V v v tight.. No $$$ for parents.. Wonder how we survive these 5 yrs.. GOD is really good lor!

Now, things improved so much as I'm working from home.. Can start saving and buy little things for myself le.. ancing_wub:

Hubby pays everything but so far we have survive life here in SG. Needs one to be patient & humble, wait for the time when you will harvest the fruits of your labor. Having a tight budget before is never easy for me but it made me learn to be contented if I need to...

Usually we save 25% of our gross pay, then 20% goes into CPF. The rest are used to pay for car, kids' enrichment fees, school fees, handphones, parents' allowances, daily/mthly exps and whatever that we wanna spend on ourselves. Didnt exactly portion out how much we spend on ourselves but I guess as long as a certain amount is saved each mth, we are allowed to spend on ourselves, including occasionaly indulgences.

HE always provides....when i decided to take a break from working b4 my wedding so took unpaid leave n request for transfer to new department, GOD provided all the wedding expenses although we were super tight then....
Then I found out I was pregnant jus as I started returning to work at new department, again, GOD provided me with understanding bosses and excellent colleagues n work environment....

last time i always tell my hb he is earning v little (compared to my previous BFs n other guy frens)....but GOD has provided....
our money seem like e 5 loaves of bread n 2 fishes.....when we need to buy things, money is always enuf although our pay isnt alot....

n after my hb started to believe in GOD, his work got better, his pay got better (yes, he is now earning double of his starting pay!!! Praise the Lord!!!)....

no matter wot situation, GOD will provide....n u will be amazed at how he provides in his small little ways....

managed to survive since 2005 with a baby boy, the only savings we have are with insurance agents (long term money lor, can use to help my boy's edu when its time to go Uni/poly etc)... ... erm, seems to spend every single cent - maybe overspent even. Wanted to save more but just cannot - give parents,food, transport,bills...etc. Who knows what may happen tomorrow, so as long as healthy and happy and covered with insurance should be quite safe. We do have a fixed d for emergency but since then has not managed to set up another FD!!! oops --- gosh. must do something soon.

for me, my parents forced us to hv good saving habit since young. seldom go shopping. dun go for branded stuff. so managed to save quite a bit. dun hv the prob of overspending.

now temporarily semi-retired (due to my boy), most expenses on my hubby. unless i go out without hubby, if wan buy or eat anything, then i'll pay. i v niao towards myself but v spendthrift towards my boy n hubby.
