wow ..u guys sure saved alot.The same thing for me at raffles hospital with assisted n epi n 4 bedder cost almost $4k in cash!!!wish i had known earlier..wld run to thomson..hehhehe..now at 31 weeks guess its too late

i decided my hospital with my gynae only at 34 weeks..
TMC is good, nurses there are nice and food is delicious!
environment aso not bad, not as "old" as what i heard from people..
That is what I dont understand.. they are able to claim so much from your medisave... mine is normal without epi only gas, no complications but total bill reaching almost to 3k, but still have to pay close to yrs 1.2cash after medisave..... u r lucky bill is cheap.. for Csection, & normal..btw did u pay doc fees separately?

This is the breakdown for the hospital bill. I got discharged on 18/05/09.
When you first admit, a deposit of $800.00 is required and balance will be refunded if there is any.
So which means when I discharge, I paid $1405.82 - $800.00 = $449.42

HI Mummies!
I delivered on the 7th June! Did it natural w/o epidural, i thought i will die in the labour rm man, sOOOOOOOOOO painful!
i had contraction around 2am but gyne only ask me to admit at 8am.
From 2am to 11am, the pain was still bearable.
Then it start to get painful and i ask for laughing gas. i only inhale the gas when the pain come, but after more than an hr, i cannot stand it, was crying and already sign consent form for epidural.
But my gyne told me he estimated only 2 hours more so i opt for the pencillin instead.
I was so tired and i start to continously inhale the laughing gas, i think this shld be the correct method coz i start to relax and become dizzy frm the combined effect of gas & pencillin...
Then less than 2 hours later, i can feel the urge to push! Dat is the real painful part.
Everything happen very fast from then on, but i dont knw hw to push correctly, so ended with a big tear and baby was vaccumed out!
Now sitting on a float while typing this, all mummies shld get the tummy binder from hospital as well otherwise difficult to walk with tummy wobbling here and there after giving birth.
I am with Lawerence Ang at Thomson Medical Center and paid a total of less than $400 cash.
2 day, 4 bedded (auto upgraded to 2 bedder) natural delivery with vaccum and w/o epidural.
I like Lawerence Ang, he is good, humorous and so far accurate in his estimation! He is quick too!
Staffs at Thomson Medical Center are very encouraging and helpful as well.
Breasts is engorged and painful, shoulders are aching, wound is painful, but everything seems worth it when i look at my little one.

hi mich, mine bill almost same as you! did dr adrain collect 500 deposit frm you? mine he collected, but is not reflected in the bill.. so very puzzled about this..
and also my charges for dr adrain slightly higher than you..
medisave- $1181.85
non-medisave- $423.15
wonder why got difference..
mine is forcep delivery..

Hi Chelle,
Congrats!! I delivered my baby on 6th June at 1055pm. I think I was siting beside you when we visit Dr ang for check up on sat morn and was in the same lactation class as you if I'm not wrg. On sat after my check with dr ang he say I can consider to deliver on that 6th or on 7th ask me to think abt it if I wanna deliver he will insert pill to let me diate further.
So me and hubby decided to go for it, but in the end he decided to manually dilate me with fingers, I was screaming like hell when he did that.
And after that I was put on ctg then send hm to rest.Dr Ang called me at 1pm and askme to admit to hosp by 4pm, just before I leave the hse my waterbag burst. And the contraction became stronger and stronger, by the time I reach hospital I'm in pain with cold sweat. After dr ang came I ask him if i can have epidural, and he allow because he cantell I can't take the pain and that time i was abt 5cm dilated. Finally I gave birth to my baby at abt 11pm, tried vacuum but failed and in the end forcep. Dr Ang said my wound was very BIG and will be painful and take at least 2 weeks to heal. Now same as you resting at home.
My total cash after medisave came out is abt $850 for natural with epidural using vacuum and forcep. (inclusive of baby bill)

OH, i think i remb you too..haaha...i super scared of Dr Ang doing chk below, the 1st time he did it during my 37th week, i was shocked at the way it was done and every week i dread the chkup, cannot imagine him dilate manually! Eeks, scary...
I think Lawerence Ang thought i wil take epidural too coz he was surprised when he knew i did not take in the end. My wound is big too coz i dont't knw hw to push....
But today a week , wound seems better, need not use float and off painkiller! Yeah!

I wound is slightly better but I got piles... haiz... just went for checkup on sat and dr ang laugh saying i got piles becos i keep complaining say its painful. Now this 2 days i feel that my below maybe is the urinary area quite uncomfy, keep having a sharp sensation when i stand up. Don't know if its normal, so sian I just cant wait for the everything to heal fast.
