My first fertility visit at GlenE he didnt do much tests on me. Maybe he thinks I can get preggie easily since I've had two bfps. So he only did booster kind of treatment (I was self injected). I mean I was given a scan by him then he also sent me to another clinic to do a more thorough scan. My hubby did SA.

Now with Dr Sadhana from Kandang Kerbau Hospital, my blood is drawn for two tests (can't remember the names of the tests) and also HSG coming Wed. Will be doing the review on 18Mar.

Hmmm... nothing to be scared. It's a way to just knowing our body better.

Lynn, in my own opinion, TCM medicine can't make one ovulate, if she doesnt ovulate herself. Still need western medication to assist. TCM is just here to give a little booster. Cannot count on TCM to ovulate, I feel so l.a.

Hi dragontail n littlehamster,

I am super super depress today..:eek:10::eek:10:can anyone help me to find out more info thru Tcm dr or any gynae/fertility dr?? Im desperately need help!!!!

I had just learnt from my friend who had consulted Dr Su before. She told me Dr Su said if one doesn't ovulate regularly or never ovulate at all will lead to early menopause! I am not sure if this is really true.. I know sometimes i ovulate, n sometimes not. I am very very much get affected by this issue that I cried since last Sat.
Really no mood to eat and sleep..I hope it is not true.. But she told me Dr Su said she encountered such patient in the case of Pcos who never ovulated at all i think and she menopause early.. sounds scarely to me!!

Littlehamster, can help me ask yr tcm dr if this is true?? I need a different opinion from diff Tcm Dr and gynae. I ever asked my gynae but she said not true...Why was there a diff in answer?? I am not sure who to believe as it seems that Western Dr n Tcm got diff opinions.. Kindly help..thks lots!!!

Lynn, I suggest you see a specialist and he might be able to advice and help you. Don't overthink at this point. Sometimes all you need is medical intervention and if you get stressed and depressed more, no good for your body hey.

Littlehammie, from what I read, Lynn doesnt ovulate regularly. But you ovulate regularly right? So I feel tcm can help you to "ovulate better". So I feel Dr Wu's powder should be able to do that. But I kinda doubt her medicine can make one ovulate if she doesn't ovulate in the first place.

Just my own view.

Lynn, Tcm doesn't guarantee that u will ovulate. However it helps to strengthen your womb, improve blood circulation and the overall well being. These factors are crucial to a pregnancy.

I have been on tcm for 8 months however I do get months that I didn't ovulate (derived from the cd21 blood test)

Ultimately my fertility western dr has to prescribe clomid for me to ensure that I ovulate.
If i happen to ovulate on my own , then clomid will make me ovulate one more egg which makes me have 2 eggs for that cycle.

I too have months that I don't ovulate but my reserves is abundant (derived from. Cd2 blood test) so don't listen to all these stories.
Everyone is unique.

What happened to others might not be applicable to u.

I would suggest u go and see a fertility dr to get all these checked, rather than stressing ur self unnecessarily.

Well just my two cents worth and my experience so far. :)

Its better to go for fertility tests earlier to see how both u n husband condition. Like me, my husband has low sperm count n morp but yet they are able to find suitable ones for ivf. I only regret that I was busy working for the past 2 years. I should go for checkup earlier n find out what's wrong rather then seeing or listening to what others say. Luckily dun have to wait too long for ivf n the comforting thing is govt is subsidzing. Think positive n relax.

Mint, same here. We busy working and missed out something more precious.

Dragontail, I always o every month based on bbt.
Lynn, if not wrong tcm also helps women problems, But I think u need to go to one that focus on tiao body rather than fertility specialist. And u still young leh, Where got menopause So early. Dun worry So much. Where u stay? U wanna go See drC? He is a Good tcm cum counsellor. that day He told me He is treating some lady with endometrosis, Very problematic n say My condition is not that serious, just Chi weaker. For me, western doc say I all Ok, But tcm say I weak So I go tcm. I heard drC saying western med more on force the body to do things (like clomid ),while tcm heals the body and make it optimum to do anything even preggy n childbirth. Btw He does acupuncture, So Maybe He can stimulate for ovulation?

Hi all,

Thks for all yr encouragement. Im feeling better now.. didn't actually sleep well for past few days. I was diagnosed with pcos thru scan which means sometimes I ovulated sometimes not, and the eggs don't come out to form polycystic ovaries. Dr said it will resolve by its own..

Soursop, my gynae also suggested me to take pills to make me ovulate. I have yet to start at the moment as I had thin uterus lining. I heard that acupunture may help in this area. Now seeking tcm to tiao my body.

May I kw to check for egg reserves (cd 2) is check for which test? Just the FSH, LH and estrogen level test or the whole list of hormones test?? Or AMH test?? how to kw if our eggs are abundant?? Fsh must be higher than LH is it?

For my case, it should be the other way round as Im a pcos patient unless for the particular mth I ovulate, if not , my LH will be higher than my FSH during cd 2. This info was given by my gynae. Previously when I did my blood test, it was done on same day as my scan. (cd12). My estrogen level is fine. She said just hormones imbalance. I also don't hv high sugar level or high androgens..thyroid test all ok. My gynae also suggested me to take hormones pills (contraceptive pills)( for few mths) to regulate my cycles to treat pcos. But Im still considering if i should take it...cos im afraid of the side effects. Anyone been taking hormones pills?? Any feedback? Anyone taking Yasmin??

I would appreciate if anyone who is seeing a TCM can help me ask if one who never ovulate or seldom ovulate for the case of pcos patient would lead to early menopause. I am confused as I know if estrogen level is kept high, why would it lead to early menopause? Does it matter if eggs dont come out regularly? Dr Su said its better to ovulate regularly if not would lead to early menopause which i really don't understand this "theory". I only kw if don't ovulate regularly would lead to infertility or lower chance of conceive thats all.. n im wondering if thats the case, how about those woman who takes contraceptive pills to prevent pregnancy? Hormones pills is to prevent ovulation rgt, then does it mean that if they take for long term will lead to early menopause?? Doesn't make sense rgt??

Hi littlehamster,

Thks for yr advise. I am now seeking Dr Su to tiao my body but I realised a big diff in her treatment as compared to Dr Wu earlier.. as I told her i got pcos n i may not ovulate myself so i might need help in this area. I took her med for abt 2 wks (from cd 13) but i don't see any cm but previously I consulted Dr Wu ( also cd13), just a few packets of med, I got lots of CM which i kw her powder is super strong..maybe thats what u called pre o or ovulation med which Im not sure. But the feeling was diff.. it warms my stomach very fast. N to to be frank, I kw this cycle my menses might skip or late again.. cos i got no "feelings" dw there..

I see Dr su now is because i got bloated tummy so i am doing acupuncture also..Dr Wu didn't want to do acupuncture for me leh.. so no choice. But I might consider switching if my tummy gets better. I want to make my cycles shorter n not longer.. im disappointed to hear frm Dr su that she didn't want to give me ovulation med. I actually saw her few yrs back but she forgot.. that time she gave me ovulation med, my menses really come if not always late. Now she suggested me to take hormones pills frm gynae to treat my pcos and at the same time take her med.. im wondering does it help? cos hormones pills is to stop ovulation..n her med is to assist me to ovulate by "tiao my kidney". sigh.. very confused!!

Littlehamster, can help me do a favour? if u got time, when u next visit yr tcm dr, Dr c rgt? Can try to ask him if one doesn't ovulate but menses come only, will it lead to early menopause from tcm point of view i mean..

Dr su said she got real life example frm pcos patient.. but i am not sure if i shd believe her.. or trying to scare me since she might er.. "create" this story to make me continue long term treatment with her ..just my six sense..

Maybe u try to have more faith in Dr Su. I'm sure she knows wat she is doing. I seen her in Sep 13 and got pregnant on Dec 13.

Lynn, poor gal you are so stressed up! I think it's bullshit pcos will cause premature menopause (is there even such term?) . Pcos may have the similar symptoms to menopause but I really don't think they both are related or have impact on each other.

That said, I'm not saying whoever is giving you "wrong" info. I find it's better for you to not read too much into this (u see how it's affecting you right? ). I agree that soursop says everyone is different. Like I know smoking is bad and causes cancer but my grannies lived to long age even they smoked like sticks after sticks. I mean Ok la...maybe some ladies indeed unfortunately get earlier menopause because of pcos but it may not happen to you.

So why worry on something that hasn't even happen (or doubting the truth of it). You may want to focus on how to seek help on the ovulation part. Dont hu si luan xiang! Have to keep a happy mind.

Lynn, let me share a success story with u

My friend also was diagnosed with
PCOS and on the first month of being on metformin, she conceived.

It was an unplanned pregnancy. Her dr told her chances of conceiving is super low so she had unprotected sex.

In the end she had to get married because of the baby
