Hi Shashan, thanks for your reply. Yup I know my mood may affect implantation. That's why I'm so upset with myself when I am anxious. I did my two cycles in KK after being referred by my gynae. I had an ectopic before and couldn't conceive after that. Did three IUI to no avail too. Was impressed with KK's professionalism in handling my case. But if this IVF still failed, I'd try private.

I see... At first, I was seeing gynae there too, but had a very bad experiences, thus now seeing an expert at SGH...

I was seeing Dr Sadhana there. Before that i did my check up at M.E. But waiting time too long, thus i try kk. She didn't do a full check on her own, she just took down whatever thing I told her and then suggested me to do IUI, which actually can't help me at all. Wasted about 2k at kk.
Then my dad's neurologist in SGH recommended Dr Yung su ling to me, thus I visited her till now

I hope the SGH experience is better for you this time. Is this your first attempt? For me this is my second attempt, but each time I have continous cramp. This morning woke up twice in wrenching pain. Rather exhausted now.

Hi Sweethorizon, all the best to your first attempt! May you get what you desire! Everyone responds differently to the drugs. Some of my friends go through IVF in a breeze and have no pain at all. For advice, do drink water constantly since your body has lots of hormone. Drinking water, taking good amount of fruit and vegetable do reduce bloatedness. If your age is high, do go for acupunture, take antioxidant pills such as acaia berry or coenzyme 10 to improve egg quality before extraction. After extraction there is not much to do except to relax and rest.

JTS :

Was trying to conceive for many years. Was on Chlomid and then tried SO-IUI but all unsuccessful. Finally got pregnant naturally after 5+ years but miscarried. Then tried Bai Fong Yuan. Got pregnant naturally again after 3+ years. This time successful. 39 yo when Baby born. Then after this, tried Chlomid again. Got pregnant after 2+ years and have a 2nd baby at 42. So, don't lose hope. After almost 10 years, I finally got my first son naturally and had a 2nd one naturally, 2+ years later at the ripe old age of 42.

Jia You!

Hi, I'm new to this thread. I'm looking for sisters who share the same problem as me because I don't have any friends who have problem conceiving. I'm 34 years old and I have been married for coming to 3 years. Me and my hubby have undergone several tests. The female gynae and TMC said I may have endometrosis and suggested further tests and operation. My second opinion with another gynae at Joo Chiat said no operation is required since I still have the other side of the ovary. There's no problem with my body condition, no cyst, no blockage, menses timing very accurate. Hubby's sperm count is 180million. Doc said no issue. Then went Eu Yan Sang see Dr Zhong Xi Ming who appeared on TV, on medication for 1 year, no news still. She said sperm too thick, can't move. Tomorrow seeing Dr LC Cheng of TMC for IUI consultation. Read from the thread that I can't claim medisave since TMC is private hospital? Oh dear, or should I go to KKH instead?

Hi Carebear. We are same age and been married for 2 years. I gone to 2 gynae. The 2nd gynae reccommended that I should go for IUI because hubby's sperm is just 20million but now under medication. We are willing to go for IUI because it's highly reccomended if we wan to conceive immediately. The problem is the COST for IUI. We are still undecided if we should go for IUI because all our savings will be consumed for IUI.

May I ask why you did not go for surgery for your endometrosis? Who is your gynae?

Hi Poknat, great to know u! i thot 20 million is normal? that's what i read and heard from gynae. i've seen 3 gynae in all. first is eunice chua from thomson medical - no good. she likes to push me to do lots of test and operation. she said i have endo, so i seeked 2nd opinion with Dr Sandy Lek at joo chiat, he's a very experienced gynae. so i went for scan and xray, he said im fine, don't have to do any operation. so the advice from eunice chua may be incorrect. then i was under tcm - eu yan sang paragon, specialist for infertility - dr zhong xi ming. she appeared on tv for a few times. under her for a year. she couldn't diagnose my problem so just gave tonic as supplement. very expensive so stopped but my hubby continues. each person cost about $240-280! i just went to see dr LC Cheng this week from thomson medical after reading alot of good feedback about him. i was thinking of doing iui. he is super nice, very detailed, very patient, very friendly and helpful. just that have to wait for a long time. even though i've made appt, i still have to wait 2 hours in order to see him. he wants me to try naturally for another 3 to 6 months before he will advice me further on so-iui or ivf. he said to see him once my menses come next month. he is really nice, i will continue to see him from now on. by the way from what i read, you can claim medisave for iui.

Hi, shashan here. U may want to try SGH CARE centre. I have been seeing gynae there for about 2 years. Dr Yung su ling there is very good and experience. Although I have not success, but I have confidence with her.

Hi all, my first consultation with Dr LC Cheng was $178. Dr Cheng taught me about catching the most accurate timing for intercourse, something which I've been practising wrongly. Last time I used to do it immediately the urine test strip turns positive. but he said the correct timing shd be 12 hours after i tested positive e.g. I tested positive at 7am, so I shd only do it at 7pm and thereafter try as much time as possible before ovulation ends at 7am next day. Hope this info benefits all out there :)

Actually it was me who decided on IVF after going thru some tests by my specialist from Kandang Kerbau Hospital. I insisted on it and told them straight that i dont wish to waste my time and money knowing IUI may not be effective at all for some cases.

IUI is just shooting the sperm right up your womb near your ovaries and wait for it to fertilise your eggs naturally. However this method is proven good for those man whose sperm results came out good.

As for my case, after our fertility test dear husband was known to have slow swimmers so even the specialist said no point i do IUI but i can try though.
:shyxxx:
Hey sweety, I had a close friend with about the same dilemma, but her hubby with low sperm count and she opted straight away with IVF and she had a beautiful baby boy. Good luck to you sweety! As for me, we both tested and doctor found us with no problem thus I'll have my first IUI next week. I've been trying for close to 3 years.

Hi everyone!
I am currently going through my second SO-IUI. Will like to get advices on whether this procedure can be claimed through medisave?
Mine is a private practice at Gleneagles. Got to know from MOH website that it is claimable up to 3 times, puzzled that my gynae says is not claimable. Will like to confirm on this from those who have claimed before for their IUI treatment. What are the documents required for the claim and how to go about doing it?
Have been sending several emails to MOH but no reply till now. Sigh...
Thanks for sharing!
Hey sweety. Actually you can claim medisave for IUI if you really want too. However, by doing so, you'll be reducing the changes of making deductations/payment through medisave. You see sweety, the total amount of claim for both IUI and IVF is 3 times. Thus if IUI doesnt work and you finish using the max claim of 3x, by the time u decided to go through IVF, you cannot use ur medisave anymore. Since IVf cost way much more, why not reserved medisave for IVF? Trust this helps.

anyone holding fire after today's shocking news? IVF Mix Up at Thomson Medical Center?
Oh yes, the mixed up is real bad.. imagine ttc for 10yrs and finally concieved through ivf. Gave birth to a beautiful bb girl but DNA only belongs to mother. If I'm the couple, will confirm sue TFC until bankrupt. Such mistake will affect the couple and innocent bb for life! Oh geez.. hope kkh do not have such problem.

I failed my 1st ICSI at kkh in Oct. It result in chemical pregnancy and officially lost 2 embroys @ 4w4d. It was devasting when spotting came 12dpet and hcg blood test shows very low hcg level (18.7). I will rest for 2 cycles and do (natural thaw) fet in Dec. Is any ladies doing ivf or fet?
